Press Release from the Reeds Spring School District
The Reeds Spring School District will host a community forum on Monday, May 24 to discuss the possibility of changing its name. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the middle school auditorium.
When the Strategic Planning Committee first met in 2019, there were discussions about whether the name Reeds Spring School District accurately represents all students. The district is made up of five communities: Reeds Spring, Cape Fair, Branson West, Kimberling City, and Indian Point.
The Strategic Plan includes goals to maximize academic excellence, recruit and retain high-quality employees, and enhance community awareness and engagement. The committee recommended that the district explore the possibility of a name change in order to help achieve the goals of the Strategic Plan.
A survey is being conducted now through May 9. The District will release the results publicly after the survey closes.
