The entire Lakes Region in both Arkansas and Missouri is under a Freeze Warning overnight tonight with low temperatures expected in the Upper 20’s.
The National Weather Service advises people with tender plants and crops to protect them from the cold and to also take steps to protect outdoor water pipes and sprinkler systems.
A cold front will move through the region today dropping temperatures this afternoon. Precipitation is expected to be mainly rain but snow mixed in with the rain is a possibility this afternoon. No snow accumulations are expected in the Lakes Region but could be some small accumulations in areas around Springfield and to the north, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for this afternoon.
Though slightly warmer, another round of at or below freezing temperatures are possible again Wednesday night into Thursday before temperatures begin to moderate going into the weekend.
