Updated information from the National Weather Service indicates an increased chance of Severe Weather in the Lakes Region today.
Forecasters expect the thunderstorms to move through the region in two waves, the first being mid-afternoon with the second round in the early evening. Large hail, damaging winds, and a possible tornado could develop along with periods of heavy rain.
Areas of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas on and west of the Highway 65 Corridor is the area of greatest threat according to the Weather Service.
A cool and breezy Saturday is expected around the region with lingering showers with sunny and warmer conditions expected on Sunday.
