Boozman Continues to Push Importance of Broadband in Rural Areas

by: Scott McCaulley

Arkansas Senator John Boozman visits Northern Arkansas Thursday to take part in “Eggs and Issues” Breakfast at North Arkansas College to hear about issues involving those in Agriculture.

Boozman said one of the things that was brought up was the importance of Broadband Access and the importance of what he termed “Precision Agriculture” which uses technology to make farms more efficient. Boozman said that efficiency is important in an industry that accounts for a quarter of the state’s economy overall and a much higher percentage in many smaller communities.

Senator Boozman also talked about Broadband Access during a visit to KHOZ’s “Around the Table” program saying that in forming new developments, Broadband must be considered right along other utilities such as Electricity and Water in making it a viable property.

The complete interview with Senator Boozman can be seen on the Around the Table Facebook Page.
