Tourism Tax Vote Needed for Bonding Capacity

The two Ballot Questions will appear on the City of Branson Ballot in April that will allow the city to continue to use the money raised by the Tourism Tax to help pay bonds for Infrastructure Projects and also Marketing.

The 4% Lodging Tax as well as the 0.5% Food and Beverage Tax was first passed by voters in 1997 and is up for a vote again due to the initial bonds being paid off according to Jonas Arjes of the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.

The rate of the tax will remain the same as it stands currently if these issues are passed by voters on April 6.
