Clarification on PPP/Shuttered Venue Grants Can Help Local Businesses

by: Scott McCaulley

Live entertainment businesses in the Branson Area as well as similar businesses around the country faced a difficult decision in choosing one of two programs that could help them during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Previous rules prevented those businesses from seeking relief from both the Payroll Protection Plan and the Shuttered Venue Grant Program from the Small Business Administration.

Katie Hodges, VP/Commercial Lender with Branson Bank, says during a Tuesday interview on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program that has now changed.

Hodges also says though not official yet, the Biden Administration is expected to extend the PPP Program from the current March 31 deadline to May 31 and add more money to the program.
