The projects to rehab both the Highway 65 Southbound and Northbound Bridges over Lake Taneycomo is underway.
The project, part of Governor Mike Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program, will include major rehab on the southbound bridge, the older of the two spanning Lake Taneycomo, plus some minor rehab work on the northbound bridge.
Johnny Teagardin, Resident Engineer with MODOT’s Southwest Division, talks about two of the major traffic impacts during a visit on KRZK’s “Ozarks Now” program.
Signed detours will route motorist wishing to get onto southbound 65 from 76 to northbound 65 and to the Branson Hills Blvd./ Shepherd of the Hills Expressway Exit where they can use the overpass bridge and ramp to get onto southbound 65.
Teagardin also says there will be flaggers standing by to stop traffic if needed on Sunset Road in Branson and Wilshire Drive in Hollister as well as boating traffic on Lake Taneycomo.
The project is expected to be done sometime in July.
