Callandra Mondy from Camp Jack spoke with “Around The Table” on KHOZ Thursday to discuss Camp Jack.
Mondy said they are opening the facility to visitors this Saturday for an Open House between 11-2 to get a sneak peak at the soon to be open facility for Veterans.
The organization is named after Jack Williams, a Harrison native who received a posthumous Medal of Honor for his service in WWII. Mondy said they want the camp to be a one stop shop for veterans. “Everyone can go to our Facebook Page at Camp Jack,” she said.
There close to 3,000 veterans in Boone and other surrounding counties. “As much as we love our veteran organizations, there is some red tape.” She said Camp Jack supersedes that red tape.
She added that there is a warehouse where they will repair wheelchairs and build ramps. “We welcome anybody who is willing to come and donate their times and their services.”
The full show is available on the Around The Table Facebook Page.
