A Pro Wrestling School is now open in Marionville.
The school is called Tiger Pro Wrestling Academy. Clay Ponder, the owner of the school, has about 13 years of experience in the pro wrestling business.
In the early 2000s, Ponder wrestled in the independent circuit as well as running a school in North Carolina. After retiring, he moved back to Missouri and opened the academy in January this year.
The school is open to those 18 years or older. The school’s head trainer is a former 80s WWF wrestler, Terry Zeller. Zeller aims to train his students in the basics of ring movement, psychology, promos, and safety.
“Somebody that’s got integrity, somebody that’s got that natural talent. They’ve got to have the heart… the philosophy is you do it 100 percent or not at all,” says Zeller when scouting new talent.
