Three of the top ranked Nursing Programs in state are located in Southwest Missouri.
One of those is the Armstrong McDonald School of Nursing at College of the Ozarks, which ranks fifth in the state according to the rankings posted on the Registerednursing.org web site.
“I was surprised to receive that,” Janice Williams, the director of the nursing program at C of O tells Ozarks First. “We were not seeking that. We want to do what we do with excellence and we happened to be recognized for that. I’m honored.”
According to a release from College of the Ozarks, the school’s program had a first time pass rate of 100 percent, which exceeds the national average of just over 83 percent. Several months of the training in 2020 took place virtually due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Two other programs in Southwest Missouri also made the rankings with Ozarks Technical Community College, whose program includes the Table Rock Campus in Hollister, ranked third and Missouri State University in Springfield ranking seventh.
