Two Boil Orders Lifted, Two Remain in Place

From: KTLO

Two area precautionary boil orders put in place by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) this month were lifted on Friday.
According to the ADH website, orders have been lifted for Mockingbird Hill Water Association in Newton County and Omaha Waterworks in Boone County.
A boil order remains in place for the entire Krooked Kreek Water Association in Boone County, added Tuesday morning following a power failure. Compton Waterworks in Newton County also remains on the list. The order impacts the entire system and resulted from a low tank level and low water pressure.

ADH says under the boil notices, impacted customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption. Water used for drinking or food preparation should be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.
All ice cubes should be discarded. Only boiled water should be used for making ice.
The notices will be lifted by ADH when two sets of bacteriological samples indicate the water is free of bacterial contamination, and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system.
