The National Weather Service has updated the forecasts for snow fall in the Lakes Region.
The current weather statements:
All of Southwest Missouri is under a Winter Weather Advisory from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. A 3-5 inch snow accumulation is forecast for the region with the heaviest snow expected to start mid-afternoon.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect also starting Sunday morning going through Monday afternoon with potential of up to six inches possible with higher amounts possible in some of the mountain areas. The heavier snow fall is expected to begin sometime Sunday afternoon.
The entire region is also under a Wind Chill Advisory as record cold is expected with winds gusting up to 20 mph and is expected to continue when the snow fall commences. Wind chill readings in the -10 to -20 range are possible.
