Duck Boat Legislation Stalls in House, Will Be Brought Back-Up This Year

by: Scott McCaulley

The U.S. House did not act on Legislation passed by the Senate to strengthen the safety of Duck Boats.

The Bill, first introduced by then Missouri U.S. Senator Claire McCaskell then taken up by her successor Josh Hawley, was pushed forward after a Duck Boat sank on Table Rock Lake in July of 2018 killing 17 people.

The Bill would have increased Safety Measures on the boats in case of flooding plus require life jackets to be worn.

Hawley along with Missouri’s other Senator Roy Blunt plan to re-introduce Legislation this session.
