The Ozark County Health Department will begin making appointments Monday for COVID-19 vaccinations for those age 65 and above, according to an Ozark County Times report.
Health Department Administrator Rhonda Suter asks that calls not be placed until Monday, as appointments will not be made until then.
Suter also asks for patience from county residents, as she knows the phone lines will be busy. She says those age 65 and older who want a COVID-19 shot should keep calling. The number at the Ozark County Health Department is 417-679-3334.
This vaccination session uses the Moderna vaccine; a second shot will be needed about three weeks later.
The Gainesville Medical Clinic, the Theodosia Family Medical Clinic and the Missouri Ozarks Community Health Clinic in Gainesville told the Times Wednesday they are not yet making appointments, as they have not received their requested vaccine supplies.
However, the Gainesville clinic (417-679-4613) and the Theodosia clinic (417-273-2300) are taking names for a list of people to be called when their vaccine shipments arrives.
