The Taney County Health Department confirms 13 deaths due to COVID-19 of Taney County Residents since the end of November until early January. Nine were females in with ages ranging from their 70’s to their 90’s while the other four deaths were of males, three in their 80’s and one in his 90’s.
The total of Taney County residents whose deaths can be attributed to COVID-19 is now 68.
According to a release sent out on Monday, TCHD Officials announce County Deaths after the County of Residence and the Cause of Death can be confirmed by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Taney County Coroner.
“We are saddened to see the number of deaths associated with COIVD-19 increase, and ask community members to stay the course”, states Lisa Marshall, TCHD Director in the release. “Prevention and vaccination are our best lines of defense and we are encouraging our community to receive the vaccine when it is available and they are eligible.”
The Health Department continues to encourage residents to take appropriate COVID-19 Precautions as well has sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccination. TCHD will be offering the shots as part of the Phase 1B and future phases. Residents can sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccination list at www.taneycohealth.org.
