Despite Missouri citizens being ready to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, the state’s supply falls short of demand.
The group considered to be at the highest risk, those 65 years and over, is the largest population to become authorized for the vaccination. 3.2 million Missourians are eligible to be vaccinated. However, the state has received less than half a million doses.
Plans to have mass vaccination sites at large venues are being prepared; much of that is in a waiting period until more doses are obtained.
