Windy, Snowy, and Cold Conditions Expected in the Ozarks Today

by: Scott McCaulley

The Ozarks are in line for a mixture of Windy and Snowy Conditions as well as Cold Temperatures in the region today.

The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory in effect for Southwest Missouri and the entire state of Arkansas through most of the day as Wind Gusts are expected to top 45 and possibly 50 MPH in some areas. Temperatures will stay in the 30’s with Wind Chills in the 20’s throughout the day.

In addition to wind, Snow is expected to spread through the region today. The Lakes Region could see up to an inch of snow as they storm system moves through. While no advisory is in effect for the Lakes Region due to the snow, the metro Springfield area and Central Missouri could see 2-3 inches of snow which has led the Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for that part of the state today.

This mix of weather could also cause reduced visibilities for motorist, especially this afternoon and evening.
