More Winter Weather Alerts have been issued for the region with a previous alert now being upgraded to a warning.
The National Weather Service has upgraded a previous Winter Storm Watch that had been issued for Northwest Arkansas to a Winter Storm Warning which goes into effect this evening for the Harrison and Berryville areas. Heavy Snow with possible three to five inch accumulations are possible in the higher elevations of Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton, and Searcy Counties with lower amounts possible in lower elevations. Other portions of Northern Arkansas including the Fayetteville and Mountain Home areas are under a Winter Weather Advisory.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has also issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Missouri Lakes Region including the Branson Area beginning this evening and going into Thursday. Areas of the Lakes Region including Taney, Stone, Barry, and Ozark Counties could see minor snow accumulations with up to two inches possible in higher elevations. The advisory also includes the metro Springfield area of Greene and Christian Counties.
While temperatures will be around or just above freezing, the heavy snow could cause some travel impacts, especially early Thursday morning.
