The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District is looking to fill a position on their Board of Directors.
The District is accepting applications for an appointment to the Board to serve between now and the April Election with filings also open for prospective candidates to run to fill the remaining four years of the term of David Grandel, who passed away last November. There will also be a seat open for election for a six year term during the April Election.

Appointed Term: Submit a Resume with three references to at the Fire Protection District Office. Applications due January 11.
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of Southern Stone County Fire Protection District,
Stone County, Missouri, that an election will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 for the purpose of electing
two (2) district directors (1) 6-year term, and (1) 4-year term. The person with the most votes on election
day will take the longest term.
RSMo Chapter 321, provides the qualifications for the office of director, which shall be a voter of
the District for more than two (2) years prior to the election and must be 25 years of age or older.
Prospective candidates may file from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M*., Monday through Friday, beginning
December 15, 2020 until date January 19, 2021 at the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District
Office, located at 10965 E. State Highway 76, Branson West, Missouri. Interested parties must sign a
statement, under oath, that he or she possesses the required qualifications along with a $10.00 filing fee,
cash or check.
Said election will be held at the designated polling places throughout the Southern Stone County
Fire Protection area, Stone County, State of Missouri, with polls to be open beginning 6:00 A.M. and
closing at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
*Office will remain open on January 19, 2021 until 5:00 P.M
