While most of the Lakes Region is experiencing a break in precipitation early today, more is on the way which has prompted some advisories from the National Weather Service.
In Northern Arkansas, Winter Weather Advisories are posted beginning at Noon today going through early Friday morning as pockets of Freezing Rain could mix in with the Rain causing some slick road conditions, especially in higher elevations. Both the Harrison and Berryville areas are included in the advisories which include Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton, and Searcy Counties.
Potential Heavy Rain is also expected which has promoted the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Advisory for the Buffalo River near St. Joe in Searcy County. Forecasters are predicting the river to rise to around 22 ft. by Friday evening causing minor impacts along the river including to some of the access points and public facilities.
The Missouri Lakes Region is not under any advisories so far but rain is expected to redevelop later today with the potential of an inch or more of rain in some areas. Currently, temperatures are forecasts to stay at or above freezing limiting the potential for freezing rain.
