Today is the final day for several Holiday Tournaments as Lakes Area teams have wrapped or will wrap-up play.

For the Branson Pirates, their run in the Greenwood Blue and Gold Tournament was ended by Buffalo, who used a surge in the game’s final moment to hold off the Pirates 68-65 at the old Greenwood Gym. It was a good two day run for Buffalo as their Girls Basketball team had done the same to the Lady Pirates in the Pink and White Lady Classic the day before.

In other action in Springfield, Blue Eye rebounded after their loss to Nixa in the Pink and White Lady Classic as they defeated Carthage 50-43 in a consolation game at Glendale. The Lady Bulldogs also eliminated the Lady Tigers from the tournament last year. This win earns Blue Eye a spot in the 5th Place Final at Noon today against El Dorado Springs at Hillcrest.

The Hollister Lady Tigers take third place at the Walnut Grove Tournament as they hold off Ash Grove 47-42. Miller, who knocked off Hollister in the semi-finals on Monday, earn the Tournament Title with a win over the host Lady Tigers. Crane last the fifth place game to Sparta 59-56.  Today in Walnut Grove, an all Lakes Area Final for the Boys Championship as Hollister will play Forsyth. Game time is 2:00 with the game to be heard on

In other tournament action, Bradleyville drops a 35-31 decision to Dora in the Mountain Grove Tournament 5th place contest while Reeds Spring loses to East Newton 37-32 in the consolation finals of the Southwest Tournament at Washburn.
