Customers to Start Seeing Credit Card Fees on Payments to Branson City Hall

Press Release

Starting January 6, 2021, anyone who uses a credit card for payments to the City of Branson (City Hall) will notice a ‘convenience fee’ added to each credit card purchase. This fee is charged directly by the credit card merchant company for the processing of the payment and is not a fee charged by the City.

For utility payments, the credit card merchant will charge $2.99 for each individual payment and $1.99 for each eCheck. To avoid this convenience fee, you can set up an automatic bank draft, if you haven’t already. Existing and new automatic bank drafts are not subject to the convenience fees. You can set up automatic bank drafts in person at the Finance Department at Branson City Hall or by completing an Automatic Bank Draft form and emailing it to The Automatic Bank Draft form can be found in the “Applications & Permits” section of the City’s website under “Water and Sewer Applications.” Credit card payments for utility bills will not be available between December 31, 2020, and January 6, 2021, while the credit card company makes these changes.

For all other credit card payments, the credit card merchant will charge a 2.75% convenience fee. This includes online Branson Parks & Recreation payments, all CitizenServe payments, business licenses, cigarette taxes and tourism taxes.

For questions about this credit card convenience fee, call the Branson Finance Department at 417-337-8553.
