Gusty Winds Through the Ozarks Today

by: Scott McCaulley

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for much of the Lakes Region today.

The Branson/Kimberling City Areas are part of the advisory in Missouri with counties including Taney, Stone, Christian, and Barry. In Arkansas, the Eureka Springs/Berryville areas are included with Carroll among the counties under the advisory.

Forecasters predict winds could gust as high as 45 MPH causing unsecure objects to blow around and possibly blow down some tree limbs and also cause a few power outages.

The winds will be out of the southwest until this afternoon when they will shift to the northwest bringing in colder air to the region. Temperatures will drop during the afternoon with lows tonight expected to get into the low 20’s. Wind Chills are expected to stay in the teens tonight and through the day on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Day Forecast calls for sunny skies with the highs in the 40’s and diminished winds.
