H.S. Basketball Tournament Recap: Blue Eye Claims Girls Tournament, Hollister Moves to Forsyth Final

The Blue Eye Lady Bulldogs uphold the Number One Seed in their Basketball Tournament as they knock off Hartville 53-31 in the Tournament Finals Friday night. Riley Arnold led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points in the Championship Game. Forsyth takes 3rd Place as they edge out Springfield Glendale 59-53 behind the 24 points of Scarlett Texeria while Spokane knocks off Reeds Spring in the Consolation Final 49-30.

At the Forsyth Tournament, Hollister pulls off the upset as the fourth seeded Tigers knock off top seeded Ava Bears 60-36 behind the 29 points of Cole Jones while Strafford knocks off the host Panthers 56-33. Saturday’s final day schedule:
Blue Eye vs. Forsyth JV 2:00 (7th)
Reeds Spring vs. Carl Junction 3:30 (5th)
Forsyth vs. Ava 5:30 (3rd)
Hollister vs. Strafford 7:00 (1st)

The 1st and 3rd Place Games can be heard on 981 FM/AM 1220 KCAX.

Meanwhile in the Willard Tournament, the Branson Pirates pick-up win number one on the season as they beat Fort Scott out of Kansas 76-59 while the Lady Pirates fall to Ash Grove 68-27. The Pirates play at 1:30 Saturday in the Boys Consolation Final against Sedalia Smith-Cotton while the Lady Pirates will play in the Girls 7th Place game at 9:00 am against Fort Scott.
