The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas joins other organizations yesterday participating in the “Giving Tuesday” event.
The Food Bank held a donation drive with the first $17,000 raised being matched dollar for dollar. As of mid-afternoon Tuesday, Food Bank NCA had raised over $13,000 to be matched.
In a release Tuesday published on the KTLO Website, Food Bank officials state that they have seen a 94% increase in direct services to individuals and a 34% increase in indirect services providing food to local food pantries. One in four children in North Central Arkansas is at risk of not knowing where his or her next meal will come from.
The Food Bank is continuing their Food Distribution including an event happening today in Harrison at North Arkansas College between 11 am and 1 pm. The Food Bank will be distributing free meat, dairy and produce to individuals and families in need.
