The Branson Board of Alderman Tuesday gives initial approval to a new two-year-contract with the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau for Marketing.
There was over an hour of discussion on the contract from people in attendance as well as Ward 2 Alderman Larry Milton who expressed concerns over some inconsistencies in contract language on if the contract is for marketing Branson or the Lakes Area in general and also what he felt was a lack of emphasis on the Theater Industry.
In the end, the contract passed on a 5-1 vote with Milton the lone no vote. The contract will be up for second and final reading in December.
