UPDATE: Red Flag Warning Extended into Parts of Arkansas

by: Scott McCaulley

The Red Flag Warning recommending no outside burning has been extended into Arkansas this afternoon including Boone, Marion, Newton and Searcy Counties until 6:00. The Red Flag Warning also includes Baxter and Stone Counties in Arkansas.

The National Weather Service earlier issued a Red Flag Warning for today for the Missouri Lakes Region.

Weather Forecasters recommend against any outdoor burning in the region today because of low humidity and strong wind coupled with warmer temperatures could cause any fire to get out of control quickly.

The warning includes the Branson Area and all of the Lakes Region Counties including Taney and Stone as well as Barry and Ozark counties. The Warning extends north and east including Springfield and going all the way to the St. Louis area and the Boot Heal.
