Despite being closed for a few weeks when the COVID-19 Pandemic first hit Arkansas, the Buffalo National River has seen a record number of people visit river and the surrounding areas in 2020.
Cassie Branstetter, the branch chief of interpretation at the Buffalo National River, visited the “Around the Table” Program on the Original KHOZ last week and talked about how people are heading to the river in big numbers. Branstetter adds that planning ahead can help avoid some of the large crowds that have gone to the river.
Branstetter also says that while most of the buildings including the Visitor Center remain closed, the majority of the outdoor areas are still open.
