Members of the Lakes Area Community are stepping up to continue the Holiday Assistance Programs once coordinated by an area organization which closed during the summer.
The announcement of Love, Inc. shutting down after over 20 years of coordinating many Holiday Assistance Programs in Stone and Taney Counties , left a void which is being filled through several individuals and organizations.
In Stone County, Carrie Padilla, with support help from The Southern Stone County Fire Protection District and Ignite Church, is organizing the Holiday Programs such as Shop with a Hero, , Adopt-a-Family, and a Toy Store. Applying for assistance is taking place now through December 7 with individuals able to either call 417-239-4696 for more information or go to either the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Website or the Ignite Church Website for more information.
Meanwhile in Taney County, the Salvation Army in Branson is taking over the Shop with a Hero and Toy Store programs formerly coordinated through Love, Inc. Branson Salvation Army Captain Linda McCormick tells the Branson Globe that the application deadline for assistance in Taney County is this Friday November 20. Donations can be make at the Salvation Army on Stanley Street or by going online. Call 417-339-4434 or go to the Salvation Army Branson Website.
