Information from the region on the COVID-19 Pandemic, including another Free Testing Opportunity in Taney County:
Barry County announces a fifth death this week due to COVID-19. A release from the Barry County Health Department on Wednesday indicates the individual was an 82-year-old female who had underlying health conditions and lived in a congregant care facility. Three of the four deaths that were announced earlier this week also had underlying health conditions.
Meanwhile, the Stone County Health Department announces on Wednesday that it currently has 141 active cases, the most since the beginning of the Pandemic. 12 people have died according to the Health Department in Stone County from COVID-19.
In Taney County, the Health Department reports 1481 cases have been confirmed with over 800 still under investigation. 34 people have died in Taney County due to COVID-19. TCHD also has another round of free testing underway. It began on Wednesday and will continue through Friday. Appointments are required and can be made by calling the Health Department at 417-334-4544 Ext. 590.
In Arkansas, the City of Harrison released information from the Arkansas Department of Health earlier this week indicating cases are on the rise in Boone County. Currently, 38 deaths have been confirmed from COVID-19 of Boone County residents with 120 active cases confirmed.
In Carroll County, 20 deaths and 69 active cases have been confirmed.
