Western Taney County Fire Protection District has achieved a new Insurance Service Office (or IS0) rating of 4. That’s an improvement from the previous rating of 5 on the ISO scale of 1 to 10.
According to the department, the new rating applies to all buildings in the fire district within five road miles of a fire station. In the case of one residence, their annual insurance cost on a 3200 square foot home will be reduced by $71. Chief Chris Berndt suggests patrons in the district check with their insurance providers.
The district serves the western third of Taney County with 12 fire stations across the region.
