H.S. Football Recap: Branson, Forsyth End Seasons, Harrison Wins, Green Forest Claims Bragging Rights

by: Scott McCaulley

The two remaining Lakes Area Teams see their 2020 Seasons end in the MSHSAA District Playoff Semi-final Round on Friday Night while Harrison finishes the Regular Season with a win and Green Forest claims Carroll County Bragging Rights.

The seasons came to an end for the Branson Pirates and Forsyth Panthers in the District Semi-finals. For Branson, the 55-35 loss at Carthage in the Class 5 District is slightly misleading as the Pirates were down only seven points with four minutes remaining before the Tigers put it away with a pair of  scores late. Meanwhile, the Panthers stayed close most of the way but eventually fall to Fair Grove 41-20.

The Harrison Goblins, having clinched the top spot in 5A West last week, finish out the regular season with a 49-28 win at Pea Ridge. Meanwhile, Green Forest claims bragging rights in their annual rivalry game  with Berryville as the Tigers hold off the Bobcats 18-12 in this year’s game at Berryville.
