Reeds Spring Football Season Ended by COVID-19

by: Scott McCaulley

Another Lakes Area School has had its Football Season ended by the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic.

One week after advancing to Friday’s District Semi-final due to a COVID-19 Issue with Hollister forcing them to cancel their game between the schools, Reeds Spring in a statement released on Social Media Thursday afternoon says that due to quarantine issues that have greatly affected the Football Team, they are having to forfeit District Game at Cassville Friday.

Cassville, which had a First Round Bye due to being the top seed in the District, will have had a three week layoff from the end of the Regular Season to the District Title Game as they will host the winner of the Seneca at Mount Vernon Game on November 13.

The two other Lakes Area Schools are still scheduled to go on Friday with Branson playing at Carthage and Forsyth hosting Fair Grove. The Branson Game will air on Legends 106.3 KRZK with the Forsyth Game moving over to MY 100.1 KOMC.
