Four people are in custody after an incident early Thursday morning in Kirbyville.
Taney County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Brad Daniels says in a post on the Department’s Facebook Page that multiple calls were made to Law Enforcement Officials around 5:00 am reporting the sounds of explosions and automatic weapons fire. Deputies went to Kirbyville with their investigation eventually leading them to a shop building on Whorton Road where several people barricaded themselves in the building. Later after a search warrant was obtained and executed, deputies located several stolen items including a Polaris UTV, utility trailer, firearms, and a motorcycle. Methamphetamine and other illegal substances were found on site as were several firearms and cash.
The four people taken into custody have not been identified pending the filing of formal charges.
