Cross Country Runners compete Saturday in District Meets attempting to qualify for next week’s State Meets. Several of the Area District Races took place at Hollister High School.
This meet was one of the races that took place in Hollister with the Blue Eye Boys and Girls teams each winning the Team and Individual Competition.
In the Boys Race, the Bulldogs had four runners finish in the Top 10 to easily out distance Fordland and Galena for the team title. Ryan Cardenzana took home Medalist Honors with teammate Jadon Weaver finishing behind him in second place. Houston Parker and Roman Ray finished fourth and sixth respectively. Blue Eye’s win will send the entire team to next week State Meet along with Galena’s Cameron Sartin, who’s 10th place individual finish also sends him to state.
Blue Eye also finishes 1-2 on the Girls Side as the Lady Bulldogs won the team competition over Fordland. Riley Arnold and Braylynn Siricks got the top two finishes with Alexis Litel finishing ninth. All Blue Eye runners finished in the Top 20. The Blue Eye Girls will also be joined by a Galena Runner in the State Meet with Chalice Sherer’s 12th place finish also advancing her to the State Meet.
The Spokane Boys and Sparta Girls take home the team titles in the meet also held at Hollister. Spokane’s Sam Shuman also won the Boys Medalist honors with Crane’s Calen Faucett making the State Meet with his 10th place finish.
The host school as well as Forsyth and Reeds Spring are among the schools taking part in the Class 3 Meet. The East Newton Boys and Aurora Girls won the team titles.
On the Boys Side, Lakes Area Runners finishing in the Top 15 making the State Meet include Devyn Rains (Forsyth 6th), Jaxon Thomas (Hollister 8th), Evan Brandsma (Reeds Spring 9th), Levi Lux (Forsyth 10th), Gavin Lux (Forsyth 14th).
Branson travels to Nixa for the District Meet and finished fifth and seventh in the Boys and Girls team competitions. Tristen Bough finishes 10th in the Boys Race to move on to the State Meet.
The State Meet in all Classifications will be next Saturday in Columbia.
