For Branson, it was about avenging a loss a week ago while for Forsyth, it was looking for success as they hosted their first ever District Football Playoff Game. Both teams accomplished their tasks.
The Pirates upend Republic on the road one week after the Tigers won in Branson to earn the right to host the First Round Class 5 District Game. The Pirates won it 34-13 in a game they never trailed as Tristian Pierce threw for two scores and ran for another while the Pirate defense forced four turnovers. The Pirates go to 4-6 for the season and will travel to Carthage for the District Semi-finals next week.
Meanwhile in Forsyth, the Panthers and Willow Springs were close in their Class 2 District Game. The visiting Bears took their only lead of the night early in the fourth quarter, only to see the Panthers score the game’s final 21 points, all on Buck Sanders touchdown runs and earn the 41-21 win. The Panthers will host Fair Grove in the District Semi-finals next Friday.
With Hollister having to cancel their trip to Reeds Spring for their Class 3 District First Round Game due to COVID-19 Quarantine, the Wolves will move on to the District Semi-finals at Cassville next week.
While Missouri Schools are in Postseason, Arkansas Schools were in Week 9 of the Regular Season Friday which included another win for the Harrison Goblins as the roll at home over Clarksville 49-20 to move to 8-1 on the season and clinch the 5A West Conference Championship for the third year in a row.
