The Branson Board of Aldermen work for over five and a half hours getting through a lengthy agenda at their last regular meeting for October Tuesday night.
Two of the items acted on were a proposed 2% Water and 7% Sewer Rate Hike for next year to help cover costs for projected projects and replacement of equipment. After having been discussed at a previous meeting, that item passed as part of the consent agenda.
Later in the meeting, a discussion was held about an Ordinance that would rezone a property just annexed into the City at 121 Lenhart Lane. A developer had requested the rezoning to put some cottages in that area. Residents of the neighboring subdivisions voiced their opposition to the request citing concerns with its compatibility with their single residence neighborhood. Alderman did deny the request so the property will initially come into the city as Agricultural until a new application is received.
