After the spring event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Drug Take Back Events are being held in many areas of the country including in Arkansas this weekend.
The event is held to put emphasis on the importance of disposing leftover Prescription Drugs to prevent them from getting in the hands of others that might use them illegally or abuse them. Prescription Drugs misuse is a major cause of Drug Abuse.
In the Lakes Region, the Holiday Island Fire Department will be hosting a collection site for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday from 9-2. Other sites in the region that are also permanent sites to collect unused Prescription Drugs include:
Boone County: Sheriff’s Office in Harrison, Harrison Police Department
Carroll County: Sheriff’s Office in Berryville, Eureka Springs Police Department, Green Forest Police Department
Marion County: Sheriff’s Office in Yellville
Newton County: Sheriff’s Office in Jasper
Searcy County: Sheriff’s Office in Marshall, Marshall Police Department
