NIXA and OZARK REQUIRE FACE MASKS

Ozark and Nixa join the list of southwest Missouri communities to enact face mask rules.  Christian County shows one of the highest rates of new Covid-19 cases in the state, leading the mayor of Ozark, Rick Gardner, and Nixa’s Mayor Brian Steele to issue executive orders requiring the use of masks in public places.  Those orders were made at Monday night’s council meetings and go into effect Wednesday, October 21, 2020. The orders are set to run until the end of the year.  Under the ordinances, all persons 11 years and older are required to wear face coverings in public places.  They may be removed for dining and drinking, but six-feet of distancing should be maintained.  Complete details on the ordinances can be found on the Nixa and Ozarks websites.  We have links for you below:
