OzarksFirst has learned some Taney County residents who attempted to obtain absentee ballots by mail are getting those requests returned to their mailboxes. The reason: a candidate who provided the ballot requests to voters across the county had the wrong address for the clerk’s office printed on the envelop. According to Taney County Clerk Donna Neely, the address used was her office’s physical address rather than the mailing address. And so, the postal service has been returning those to the senders.
For people who were relying on the ballot request, it’s crunch time. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Neeley says anyone interested in voting absentee should either come into her office today or fax in their request. That fax number is 546-2519.
