The National Weather Service Office in Springfield has issued a Fire Weather Watch for the Lakes Region as well as most of the Missouri Ozark Region for Saturday.
The Weather Service says conditions are conducive for the rapid spread of Wildfires with sustained southerly winds of 20-30 MPH with possible wind gusts up to 45 MPH coupled with relative humidity as low as the upper teens possible during the day. The Drought Conditions over much of the region is also a contributing factor to possible Wildfire Development.
Outdoor burning is not recommended Saturday due to these conditions.
The next chance of rain in the forecast for the region is on Sunday.
