Harrison Parks Department Looks to Go Under City Control in 2021

by: Scott McCaulley

The process of moving the Harrison Parks Department from under the control of a separate Commission to the direct control of the City.

Parks Director Chuck Eddington on Tuesday’s “Community Partyline” Program on BOOTZ Country said that discussions had been ongoing over the last two years about this change that would see the Commission become an Advisory Park Board with final decisions on big projects made by the Harrison City Council. Eddington said increasing costs and expenses make it practical to go under direct control of the city for potential more funding.

Eddington says that the transition has to be done through an Ordinance with the hope to have it passed and the transition ready to go at the first of the year.

The Complete Interview can be found on the new Around the Table Facebook Page for the new show that will debut on BOOTZ Country next Monday morning.
