In the first season of one combined division in NAIA basketball, the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats are ranked No. 12 in the pre-season poll.
The Lady Bobcats finished 29-4 and ranked number 5 nationally in the NAIA Division II polls in 2019-2020. Unfortunately, the quest for a national title was cut short at the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament due to Covid-19 concerns.
The Lady Bobcats are one of only nine former NAIA Division II teams to hit the top 25. The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions, and Unaffiliated Groups.
While moving from two divisions to one in the NAIA will create more teams competing for the national title, the Lady Cats are once again recognized as contenders from the onset. With a solid core of returning players, including two All-Americans in Abby Oliver (Sr., Strafford, MO) and Annie Noah (Jr.,Gainesville, MO) the Lady Cats will have a great balance of experience and youth that will continue the tradition of competing for a national title.
As the concerns over Covid-19 continue, the Lady Bobcats 2020-21 season is currently on hold through the fall semester with hopes of beginning play early in 2021.
