CBCO: Blood, Donors Still in Demand

by: Scott McCaulley

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks still encourages donors to give blood due to continuing shortages in the Lakes Region.

Chris Pilgrim, Community Relations Specialist for the CBCO, joined the latest edition of the “At Your Service” Podcast to talk about the continuing need for donations of all Blood Types as the demand for blood increases while the number of Blood Drives has dwindled due to COVID-19 Restrictions. Pilgrim also talks about the collection of Plasma from recovered COVID-19 Patients that continues through the Blood Donor Centers in Springfield, Joplin, Bentonville, and Springdale.

Discussion also included a few Blood Drives that are going on in the Lakes Region in the next few weeks. They include drives at the Elks Lodge in Holiday Island (10/5), Kimberling City Community Center (10/13), Green Forest High School (10/19), and at Berryville High School (10/29).

For more information on donating blood, you can go online or call. That information is on their website at cbco.org.
