Area Football Games Reportedly Being Impacted Due to COVID-19

by: Scott McCaulley

Football Schedules have been impacted in the region reportedly due to impacts of COVID-19.

Berryville scheduled Football Games last week, including both Junior High and Varsity Games at West Fork were cancelled. The school did not specify in the announcement why the games were cancelled but a post on the school’s Facebook Page last Monday did indicate that some students and staff had been quarantined due to Health Guidelines and the West Fork District said on their Facebook Page that the games were cancelled due to COVID-19 Issues with Berryville.

Meanwhile in Missouri, the Clever School District announced last week that their football games for the next two weeks have been cancelled, which includes their scheduled home game this Friday against Forsyth. Similar to Berryville, information from Clever did not specify the reason for the cancellations but a post earlier in the week did indicate that some COVID-19 Cases had occurred in the School District.

Forsyth Athletic Director Jim Voliva tells Darin Carter, who covers Forsyth Football for Hometown Daily News Sports, that they will attempt to find a replacement game.
