High School Football Week One

Week One of the High School Football Season saw three blowouts involving the Missouri Lakes Area teams plus a close game that went down to the wire.

Branson  had a tough night as they lose to open the season for the first time in four years that Anthony Hayes has lead the program as Nixa rolled up four first half touchdowns and cruised to a 42-6 win.

Meanwhile the other two blowouts went to Lakes Area teams with new coaches. Andy McFarland  making the move from Forsyth to Reeds Spring wins in his first outing as Wolves Head Coach picking up a 41-7 win over East Newton while McFarland’s successor in Forsyth, Kris Conley, notched an even bigger win as the Panthers rolled over Greenfield 67-12.

The close game of the night was in Hollister as the Tigers grabbed the lead late only to see the visiting Monett Cubs score in the final moments of the game to pull out a 20-13 win.

Meanwhile in Arkansas, the Harrison Goblins coming off a perfect regular season in 2019, win in Little Rock over Magnolia holding on for a 42-35 victory while in Berryville, the Bobcats fall to visiting Cedarville 44-6.
