A woman from Shell Knob is dead after a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 7:50 am when a SUV driven by 74-year-old Tessie Mead crossed the center line on Highway 39 north of Shell Knob and collided with a truck driven by 57-year-old Freddie Stephens of Diamond.
Mead, who was not wearing a seat belt according to the Accident Report, was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearengin while Stephens, who sustained minor injuries in the crash, was tested for alcohol as required by law.
This is the 65th Fatality reported by accidents worked by the MSHP in Troop D in 2020.
