The College of the Ozarks and School of the Ozarks will suspend all Athletic Competitions for the Fall Semester.
This includes Cross Country as well as Volleyball for both the college and the high school.
“The College’s goal is to remain in session throughout the fall semester,” said President Jerry C. Davis in a Press Release. “Therefore, we have to minimize risk to campus. Because of the residential nature of our campus, we cannot participate in activities that put our students at risk.”
“We understand the disappointment this may cause student athletes,” Davis said. “This is for their protection and that of the whole campus community. We look forward to resuming athletics as soon as possible.”
The release goes on to say that the school will look to resume Athletic Competitions as soon as it is safe to do so.
C of O Public Relations Director Valorie Coleman tells Hometown Daily News that this will impact the start of the Basketball Season since it begins during the Fall Semester but further determinations will be made regarding activities for the Spring Semester later in the Fall.
