Harrison Passes New Salvage Yard Ordinance, Delay Passage of Rental Permit Ordinance

by: Scott McCaulley

The Harrison City Council passes an Ordinance at Thursday’s meeting that establishes new guidelines for Salvage Yards.

The ordinance, which was passed on a 2nd and 3rd Reading and goes into effect immediately but does give Salvage Yards up to a year to comply with the new law, calls for Salvage Yards or other like businesses to properly screened as to not be visible from any highways or public streets in Harrison.

Another ordinance that was up for a 3rd and Final Reading was tabled until the August Meeting. That ordinance would have established a Rental Permit Process but is going to be amended to clarify references to what would be inspected as part of the process.
