Bergman Chief of Police Jim Thomas has retired after serving 55 years as a law enforcement officer. He was honored late last month with a reception marking the occasion.

The Harrison Daily Times reports Thomas served with the Arkansas State Police, 33 1/2 years, as Harrison Police Chief, Sherwood Police Chief and Bergman Police Chief.
